• What is executive coaching?

Executive coaching is a one-on-one personalized leadership development partnership between a qualified coach and an individual executive. The process of coaching individuals focuses on enhancing their awareness about how they lead and learning to turn these insights into action. Artful questioning, listening and observation combined with respect and trust are keys to excellent coaching. We focus on seven areas: consciousness of self, congruence, commitment, collaboration, common purpose, controversy with civility, and citizenship. Our coaching helps leaders build on their strengths, develop flexibility, change-readiness, create awareness of shortcomings and build commitment to self-development and achievement.

• Return on Investment

The ROI for our executive coaching comes from the increased contributions that are achieved by the coached leaders and the reduced costs achieved retaining key executives. In the February 19, 2001 Fortune magazine reported results of a poll of executives and upper level managers who had six to twelve months of coaching. The executives were asked to give a conservative estimate of the monetary payoff from the coaching you received? The demonstrated that the recipients valued the coaching at six times the cost that their company paid for the service. Seventy-seven percent of the executives reported improved working relationships with their direct reports, 71% with supervisors, and 63% with peers. The executives also cited a marked increase in job satisfaction (61%) and in organizational commitment (44%).

Our coaching process can be measured through achievement of coaching goals established at the outset of the coaching relationship, meeting performance objectives, performance feedback, 360º feedback, promotion, and other established measures of achievement. In addition changes in the leader's self awareness, shifts in thinking and shifts in one's emotional state which inspires confidence are additional measures.

• What is team coaching?

Most teams operate at well below their potential level of productivity: little communication, unresolved issues affecting their performance, poor morale and high turnover, and/or not able to create and implement their own set of solutions and working practices. Even if the team is performing well coaching can take it to a new level of performance. Team coaching involves analysis of the team's current practices and level of performance; group coaching for the entire team; one-to-one coaching for individual team members; training and mentoring the team; and coaching the team leader(s) who work with the team. Team coaching can supplement executive coaching.

• What is organizational coaching or consulting?

Our belief is that organizations need to create cultures that foster an attitude within employees where they want to give discretionary effort. Discretionary effort is the catalyst for best ideas, high quality work, higher productivity levels, and employee engagement. We assist organizations in gaining a greater awareness into what they are doing when they are at their very best and what they can do be even more effective. Employee survey design and execution, 360˚ interviewers, and focus groups are awareness services we provide. In addition we offer common purpose workshops that help teams raise their awareness, react and respond to employee surveys, and/or create actions to help them enhance their performance. If the same problems are appearing in many places in your organization, if communication is problematic at many levels, or it you feel you may not be prepared for an anticipated change or decisions, then our consulting services could of service to you.
