Principal Assist clients in the analysis of existing business problems and the development of plans for improvement. Provide organizational & team coaching, executive support, succession planning, and leadership development services for private clients and as a senior contract consultant with Development Dimensions International (DDI).
Major Achievements
- Compiled a client list that included PEPCO, Baldor, Raytheon, Novell, Shell, AARP, Carlson Companies, Lockheed Martin, British Petroleum, and Ohio University.
- Participated as an executive coach for Raytheon’s Executive Leadership Summit (XLS), and a faculty member for Lockheed Martin’s Mid Manager Leadership Program.

Vice President: Human Resources Directed all aspects of Human Resource activities for 314 restaurants and 9K employees. Supervised 6 functional directors and 26 employees pertaining to benefits and compensation, employee relations, health and safety, field human resources, training, and performance systems activities.

- Transformed the HR department from an administrative support group to a strategically aligned business partner with Operations.
- Introduced a new performance management system, a variable pay structure, a values statement, a recognition system, and a new recruiting and selection process, leading to improved employee retention numbers and restaurant performance levels.
- Served as a participant of the turnaround team for this debt-challenged company.
- Created communication strategy during bankruptcy, developing public and institutional trust in the company leadership.
- Lowered pre-turnaround team employee turnover of 300% to 125%.
- Implemented a monthly coaching program for >2K salaried employee.

CARLSON RESTAURANTS WORLDWIDE, Dallas, Texas • 1995-2001 One of the largest international restaurant chains whose holdings include TGI Friday’s.
Vice President: International Human Resources Drove all facets of global HR functions, including recruitment, hiring, rewards plans, and training and development. Consulted the President/COO of the International Division on strategic vision, direction, and tactical planning. Developed HR accountabilities, senior team recruitment, as well as employee/management development. Managed 11 direct reports and provided oversight for >350 new store trainers. Administrated cost center budgets of >$3M.

- Initiated a variable pay program for franchisees and the international team.
- Led the Research & Development and International Marketing Teams from 1999 to 2001.
